(Above center) Glue petals onto florists' wire to create a trailing bouquet.

Create a luxurious, natural rose petal confetti by gently removing the petals from some spare roses. Our couples tell us that the sensation of fresh rose petals falling on them is simply delicious. Petals can be made a couple of days in advance, provided they are stored in a refrigerator.

Create a pretty effect by weaving rosebuds in your hair. Buds are also perfect used as buttonholes - fully open blooms will be too large. Scented varieties such as Rosalind, Cymbeline, Phoebe or Patience add an extra dimension. Keep the buds cool to prevent them opening before they are needed.

For bouquets, we recommend that most of the roses are allowed to open to reveal their glorious shapes (see the contrast between blooms and buds on the left).

Our roses are stunning on their own in a classic hand-tied bouquet, whether displayed in the bud or as fully open blooms (see picture, left). Some of the most charming bouquets are created by combining David Austin's roses with other flowers that share some of their spirit. English Roses will associate perfectly with most cottage garden flowers, herbs and foliage to create natural garden-inspired bouquets (see picture below).
All these pictures taken during a long and glorious August afternoon in the Canal Garden, the centre-piece of David Austin's two acre rose gardens in Albrighton in England.

David Austin's roses have a character and charm that sets them aside from other roses. We hope this selection of bridal bouquets will provide a little inspiration if you've not yet decided the theme for your day.
