Fine Art Prints
David Austin has commissioned two leading contemporary artists, Evelyn Binns and Anna Mason, to capture the beauty and charm of his English Roses in watercolor. Limited edition fine art prints have been created from the original paintings, using the giclée printmaking process. This specialist method provides a high quality print to accurately reflect the character of the original painting. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist in a limited edition of 650. The prints are supplied mounted ready to frame.
Evelyn Binns
Combining her remarkable talent with a lifelong love of flowers, Evelyn has captured the essence and grace of the English Rose on vellum. Evelyn is a self-taught botanical watercolor artist with an established international reputation for precise botanical accuracy. She has been awarded seven RHS Gold Medals for her work, which can be found in many prestigious collections around the world.

"I was thrilled to be commissioned by David Austin Roses to paint some of their most notable varieties. English Roses vary enormously in habit and character so every new picture is a challenge. Not only are they highly complex, but it is essential to capture the subtlety of petal color, correct leaf type and even the right number of thorns." Evelyn Binns

Anna Mason
Anna's work provides a contrasting, more contemporary interpretation of the English Roses, with the focus of the painting very much on the beauty of each bloom. Anna's paintings have a vibrancy, whilst perfectly capturing the delicacy and detail of the roses. Anna is self-taught and found an innate talent specifically for botanical painting. Anna's work can be found in a number of prestigious public and private collections and she is a RHS Gold Medal winner.

"I love the way that David Austin Roses marry the traditional with the modern. This is exactly what I aim to do with my botanical watercolors and that's why I think our collaboration works so well. When my first painting of 'The Pilgrim' neared completion I knew I'd caught the realism as every time I returned to my easel I could imagine burying my nose in its velvety petals and inhaling that heavenly fragrance!" Anna Mason.

Anna Knights is now using Anna Mason as her professional name. Earlier prints from the limited edition series are signed Anna Knights, while later ones are signed Anna Mason.
Fine Art Prints by Evelyn Binns
We are pleased to introduce the new fine art print 'Lady Emma Hamilton' as the 4th in the series. Evelyn relished the challenge of capturing the strong yet subtle colors of this beautiful variety. We believe Evelyn's work is very much in the tradition of the great botanical artists of previous eras.

The sunny yellow petals of 'The Pilgrim' became the first subject within the fine art collection. Anna's second commission was the English Rose choice of many gardeners - 'Gertrude Jekyll', which was voted the nation's favourite rose in 2006. Her third subject is the popular red rose, ‘Darcey Bussell’.
