Perfectly formed blooms. |
A most beautiful variety - one of the classic old roses. The blooms are not very large and are held in nicely poised clusters. They are of pretty cupped formation at first, later becoming flat and finally reflexing. There is the slightest hint of blush in the early stages, but later the blooms become a pure glistening white, with a small green eye at each centre. There is a delicious fragrance with just a hint of lemon. It forms a relatively strong, bushy shrub with prickly stems and plentiful pale green, matt foliage. 5 x 4ft.
Hardy (who had charge of the Empress Josephine’s famous rose collection at Malmaison) named it for his wife.
