Roses are regularly voted England's best loved flowers - and it is hardly surprising, as few other flowers can provide so much pleasure over such a long time. We offer a series of courses and events during the year to help people to learn more about these fascinating flowers, and to help them gain even more pleasure from growing them. All our events are held at David Austin's Plant Centre and Rose Gardens, Bowling Green Lane, Wolverhampton, WV7 3HB.

Bulb Weekend - Free Lectures

Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September
Morning Sessions 10.30am & Afternoon Sessions 2.30pm
Our Bulb Weekend will give you renewed inspiration for your spring borders. Our expert Ros Barker will hold morning and afternoon lectures sharing ideas on planting English Roses in mixed borders. She will offer advice on combining your favourite plants and shrubs to create a wonderful contrast of colour, form, texture and scent. Refreshments will be provided. Autumn Colour & Winter Foliage - Free Lectures

Ros Barker will suggest planting schemes that will help you to create a beautiful garden all year around. This will include bringing glorious, warm, rich colours into your garden during the autumn and attractive structured foliage during the winter months. Refreshments will be provided. Designing a rose garden or drawing up a planting scheme can be hugely rewarding. Hosted by our experienced garden designers, they make an unusual gift idea for a keen gardener. Garden Design Days are a great way to meet other rose enthusiasts and also offer the opportunity to get help if you are working on a specific garden design project.

Our Garden Design Days are available by prior reservation only. £45 per person, including lunch, tours and garden design workshop.

Our half day pruning courses are the ideal way to learn the basics of rose pruning, along with some more advanced techniques. These courses are great gifts for both aspiring gardeners and more experienced gardeners, who would like tips on how to get the very best preformance out of their roses.
Our next available dates, for both morning and afternoon sessions, are:
15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 29th and 30th January 2011.
Our half day Pruning Days are available by prior reservation only. £24.95 per person, including refreshments.

Our Traditional Afternoon Teas are served in our Plant Centre Tea Rooms throughout the year.
These include sandwiches with fillings of smoked salmon & cucumber and free range egg & cress; freshly baked scones and a tempting selection of sweet pastries or cakes served with a pot of fine English tea.
At special times of the year, such as Christmas, our menu changes to reflect seasonal produce and themes.
Special Afternoon Teas are served at 3pm. They make a wonderful treat or are the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. As we bake freshly each morning, advance reservation is required.
£12.95 per person.

Our Plant Centre and Rose Gardens are open 7 days a week. We recommend that you check our Plant Centre web pages before visiting us as we update our schedule regularly.
We are sorry that we can only accept coach parties midweek and by prior arrangement.
