With their long flowering season, roses grown en masse, in a dedicated border, are hard to beat for the sheer exuberance of flower and enticing fragrance. There are no hard and fast rules, with roses of contrasting colors looking just as wonderful planted together as roses in harmonising colors such as white, blush pink and deeper pink. If space allows, plant roses in groups of three or more, to grow together and appear as one shrub. This enables each variety to create impact in the border, rather than being lost in a sea of roses.
